    Greetings from home,

I hope you are doing well in the face of this unique time. I miss our daily sessions together in Band class and am looking forward to when we can all play together again. Here is some information I have put together to get us through until then.

On Mondays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., I will be available online for virtual office hours. During this time, I will be able to return messages, give updates, and try to answer any questions that I can.

For the remainder of the school year, there are no assignments that are required for Band. Even so, I encourage you to keep music as a part of your day. There is an enrichment activity here to help you. With whatever you’re working on, be sure to enjoy what you are doing!

Meyer Music is supporting our musicians during this time. If you need supplies, call Meyer Music and pay over the phone. They will ship your items to you for free. In addition to reeds, oils, and greases, now may be a good time to invest in a mute for your brass player. Instrument repairs may also be arranged. Call (269) 366-3920 on Monday-Friday from 3-6 p.m.

A time will be determined at the end of the school year for students not continuing in Band to return rental and school-owned instruments. I hope to do this in coordination with iPad returns. If you have not done so already, please contact me if you are not continuing in Band next year. Next year's registration form with book, medal, and picture orders will be dealt with in the fall.

I have already heard from more than half of the Band students since leaving the building in March, and every time it is a highlight of my day. If you are able to, please go to Schoology and “Like” my most recent Update, send me an email, or call 841-8810 to leave me a voice message.

    Hope to hear from you,

    Mrs. Prater
